Out of the Metro: The Sunflower Camp
Last Sunday, as we were having breakfast in Starbucks, one of the kids kept on asking if we can go for a long ride. Since we were planning to go to Our Lady of Manaoag for sometime now, we dedided to go right then. We left before lunch, sometime 11:00 and reached our destination around 1PM (with one stop-over at MickeyD's for lunch. It was a tolerable drive, not too hot and very light traffic. We headed on straight to church, and we found that parking was a bit of a challenge. We had to park in a vacant lot and paid P60 and walked to church. We intended to pray, pay homage to Our Lady, but it was totally chaotic inside. With people chatting about, taking pictures and selfies. I mean really, remember the story about Jesus and Cleansing of the Temple? Fast forward to our time, 2019... peddlers may be outside but it became one tourist spot.
