My 3rd Week of October Barre3 Progress

Image
The instructor wasn't kidding about their #squatfest! :) I love this week's workout, it truly gave me a sense of balance and butt pain. I am very happy that I was able to finish the 60 min workout. I was sort of stressing out that I may not have the energy or my body may not be able to do all exercises but surprisingly I was able to accomplish all of the sets. Happy happy! But we had guests this week and they stayed with us for a couple of days so I didn't get to do one of the recommended 30min work-outs. :(  Still glad though that I'm finding new strength in me. I'm off to start a new week with Barre3 online. Woke up today at 5:30 to exercise but the internet isn't cooperating, so I only managed to pull of the ten-minute workout with a whole lot of buffering. I do hope that I get to do the new set of excercises this week in the afternoon along with my 40 mins walk while the twins nap. Today is their assessment day and sooo we're off to school early.....

My Barre3 Week :)

Happy that I was able to finish all of them :) I am pretty addicted again. It was an on and off relationship with Barre3, but I find that this form of exercise is the best for me. At the end of every workout I would always feel relaxed, peaceful, balanced, stronger and focused. The only times that I would put Barre3 on hold is  when I'm sick, and I noticed that it does happen a lot lately after the girls started schooling. Pre-school is a nest of viruses and bacteria, someone's always got coughs and colds and the twins are bringing them home.  I look forward to next week's exercises, hopefully I find the time to do all of them. This month I also started my daily 30-45min walk on the treadmill, and I am delighted that I already feel that my body and health is already changing. There's less palpitations and chest pains a week after I started all my exercises.

Weight Loss Day 1

Filipino Food on the Whole30 program is easy peasy. Well, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right but based on the list I guess this is all allowed. I had cauliflower rice, tortang talong and pork steak with onions for lunch and dinner. Soy sauce is not allowed so I used Bragg's Liquid Aminos in place of the soy sauce needed to make pork steak. How is it different from our regualr soy sauce?  Bragg Liquid  Aminos   is not fermented, is Gluten-Free and made from non-GMO soybeans and purified water. It is an excellent alternative for Tamari and Soy   Sauce . Bragg Liquid   Aminos  contains 320mg of sodium per teaspoon serving. And then since I didn't get any email when I signed up for the 28 to Great Program, I just went on ahead and had a 30min workout. 😁 I really love Barre3 and I can't stop raving about it. When I went back to it, I wanted to go gradually into it so started with a 10 min workout but my abs already had some muscle pain the day after and I was p...

OPLAN Payat: My Journey to Weight Loss

Image
Last February we went to Singapore and I have been eating unhealthy since we got back. There were lots of parties and events in the last couple of months and I have gained weight, been experiencing chest pains and have been very very lethargic. So today I again start my 30 day journey to bring sexy back (haha!) I'll go back to the Whole30 program and start walking/running on the treadmill again for at least 30 mins a day. On top of that I plan to sign up again with Barre3's 28 to Great. I have never been able to finish the program before, not really sure why, but I have always been successful with the 7 Day Body Blast x 4 in a month. 😸  The twins have started their ballet and gymnastics program and they start really early in the day. This is training me to get up at 6 in the morning again, but since it's too hot, getting up earlier would be nicer.

Barre 3: 7 Day Body Blast

When the "ber" months started we were swamped with events and it won't stop until early next year. Because of these feasting, I was unable to follow my low-carb diet: the Whole30 Program. I felt really great when I was on that program, my chest pains disappeared and the palpitations went away too. I still don't eat a lot of carbs, I try not to, even if my kids constantly ask for carrot and chocolate cakes, I am able to avoid the temptation that stares at me from the fork that I hold to feed the twinnies. After I got better, I slowly went back into cardio exercises using the elliptical instead of running. And I really miss running. I'm so out of shape and I don't think I won't be able to go back until next year. Anywhooo, I have added Barre3 into my daily routine, doing 10 mins a day of this wonderful exercises. I have been an online member and I do see results. It makes me feel amazing whenever I do this at the start of the day and more relaxed when ...

A New Challenge

Image
Wow, I can't believe that it has been awhile since I last posted an entry here. During the past couple of weeks I have been breaking my fast and it is much more difficult that fasting. I am taking eating in slow-mo, making sure that I chew really well, and have limited my food to more greens and veggies. Only recently I have started eating lean meat. Somehow, there's that scary feeling that I migh nd up in the hospital if I go back to my old eating habits. Prior to this, I was eating mostly Italian and Spanish food - who could resist those heavy sauces and cheese? :D Anywho, since then I have kept my weight off, I had my cholesterol checked and from 5.71, I had it down to 4.2 which is now in the healthy range. Hopefully I can work it down to 2 something with my new activities and eating habits. Speaking of activities, I am now back on the elliptical (and the cardio feels great!), and have embarked on a new challenge. I have recently signed up for Barre3 's 28 to Great ...

Summer Reboot: Day 10 of Juicing

Yay! I'm here at day 10. Couldn't believe it myself. Still thinking if I should continue for 5 more days or stop now. But as soon as I get out of here, I'm gonna start the Barre3 28 to Great challenge. Can't wait, maybe it's 5 days from now, or maybe it's gonna be tomorrow. Gonna start to prepare for it though. Have my grocery list, allot some space in my refrigerator, and re-arrange the family room for my daily exercise routine. Oh, and I gotta clean my elliptical too. ;) How did I get to go this far? Well I had loads of support from my hubby and every time I'm tempted, I just look at before and after pics, read success stories, watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead by Joe Cross (this documentary was the main reason I jumped into this challenge, and I recommend watching that to anyone who wants to start anew, detox, and load up on health food, I mean juice.) So let's see, I feel really great right now and I can't wait to embark on a new challenge for a ...

Summer Reboot: Day 5 of Juicing

Lost half a kilogram today, I have another 5 kgs (11 lbs) to go. Hopefully I don't go into a plateau soon, but I look better in my clothes now, I realized I lost some belly fat. Found a trick to manage the hunger, use a girdle. ;) This morning, I did another 10-min killer Barre3 workout to boost my metabolism. I'm telling you, juicing and Barre3 are so addicting! I plan to sign up for their 28 to Great Challenge when I'm done with the reboot, I think it's a great way to keep the weight off, plus I really love those long and lean look the ballerinas and gymnasts have.

Summer Reboot: Day 4 of Juicing

Lost another kg today, but wasn't able to take a pic since my phone was dead. Started the day with wheatgrass juice and ending it with coconut water. What a treat! Not too crazy about the wheatgrass though, I really had to take it since it's very packed with nutrients. Also did a 10-min Barre3 killer workout and that was enough to make me shout! :D
