Assembling Your Own Emergency Kits for School

Classes have started and weeks before we prepared for the requirements. One of them was the Emergency Kit. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommended for each student to have their own personal survival kit.

Since they already had one last year, we just checked the expiration dates of the perishable goods and replaced them. A friend of ours asked where we can buy them, but being the thrifty mom that I am, I chose to assemble one for each of the girls.

Here's what we have:

• Bottled Water (300mL)
• 3 easy-open canned foods
• Small LED Flashlight (Check if the battery is working)
• First aid kit (containing plasters of different sizes, small bottles of betadine and alcohol, cotton and medical tape)
• 3 pcs of dusk mask
• Facial tissue
• Wet wipes
• Disposable gloves
• Emergency Thermal Blanket OR A large garbage bag
• Emergency Contact Numbers

If you have a little one, you can put in a box of crayons and some coloring sheets too.

It's really easy to put one together as the items that you need can be bought from the supermarket. 

Put them all in one box with handle, label with your child's name and you're all set!
