Tips on Selling your Items Online

Your kids are getting older and you find yourself amidst so many things that are no longer useful.  All of a sudden you become sentimental and you don't want to let them go but then you realize there is no use for them anymore. I was in this situation many times but the time came when I ran out of space and most of these items were getting so old and rusty. They were beginning to rot away and break and it registered to both me and my husband that they could be of use to someone else. That's when we started selling our things online. We started by posting the kids items, most of which they barely used and we found that there could be a lot of extra money in exchange for these things.

If you want your clutter out (or maybe you have your own products) and get money doing so, here's something to help you start with putting your items on sale online:

1. Organize your items first.

After decluttering, I suggest that you organize them into categories:

Footwear, formal clothes, costumes, accessories, travel accessories. This way it will be easier to find them and decide on which category to start with. Also, make sure they're clean and if they need to be repaired or washed, put in the extra effort to do so. After all, no one would one to buy a dirty, broken item.

2. Take GOOD  pictures.

Most phone cameras produce quality pictures with their high resolutions. Snap three to five pictures of your item.  Front and back pictures of your items is a must. Additional pictures should show other details of your objects such as the size, hemlines, the damages and other details.

The background should also be light-colored. Refrain from using a background with too much noise.
By doing this, your item will be presented favorably to your viewers without their attention wavering somewhere else in the picture.

3. Research the selling price online.

Check the brand-new price and the second-hand price. When pricing your product, take into consideration the condition, the delivery fees, the brand new price and the price of the other sellers offering the same item.

4. Check the delivery fees.

With online selling and e-commerce, many courier companies materialized. Some delivery fees cost as low as 45Php and it delivers the same day. If you were to sell items online, check out your preferred courier company delivery fees and decide who should shoulder the fees.

 5. Choose more than one e-commerce site.

There are many options where you can sell online. There's eBay, olx and Carousell. Facebook also has a feature called Marketplace. You may want to check that one out too.  You may want to find the time to put in the effort to put all your items on at least two websites.

6. Post with details.

Details such as the brand, condition, price, size, color, dimensions, delivery, payment forms, and contact number/info should be the basic information you need to put in your post. If you have any other details to add make sure it's clear, short and concise. I must warn you though, you are still going to get questions with all the answers posted with your item. Be patient. There are more viewers who read than those who don't. :) It's all part of being an online seller.

There you go! There are many ways we can earn money at home and one of them is online-selling. Be it your home-made products or pre-loved items, we wish you all the best in becoming an online seller. Goodluck! :)
